1. Purpose & Scope
This document provides a consolidated reference for the communication protocols supported across Airsys precision cooling product lines, including ASMUC, UniCool, UniCool Edge, UniCool Max, School Air Unit, OP2MUC, and Optima 2. It is intended to assist system integrators, facilities engineers, and IT teams in planning network connectivity, building automation system (BAS/BMS) integration, and remote monitoring infrastructure.
Protocol availability varies by product model and refrigerant variant (R-410A / R-454B). Some protocols require an optional software license or specific hardware configuration at the time of order. Refer to the matrix below and the accompanying notes for full details.

4. Ordering & Configuration Guidance
When placing an order, please confirm the following with your Airsys sales representative or project engineer:
- Required communication protocols and whether software licenses are needed.
- BACnet MSTP requirements — specify if an external gateway or hardware modification is required.
- ASMUC Modbus RS-485 configuration — must be specified at time of order as it replaces the Ethernet port.
- Refrigerant variant (R-410A or R-454B) for UniCool and UniCool Edge models, as this may affect hardware generation.
